Senior Project Manager [N-2023-09]

Role Description:

  • Senior management role responsible for a number of contracts cumulatively £several m, from inception through to delivery within demanding timescales
  • Ensuring that the portfolio of projects are delivered to timescale, specification, budget and customer satisfaction
  • Including liaison with production and hardware engineering facilities based at Stone
  • Overall financial responsibility for these contracts,  including subcontracts for specialist works and supplies
  • People-management responsibility for leading and motivating a team of project managers, hardware, software and installation engineers (up to 30)
  • Responsibility for all Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety aspects of the projects through the Company Q,H&S Manager and project H&S Advisor
  • Hold regular report and progress meetings with clients
  • Assist in securing future business by cultivating customer expectations through excellent delivery

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree qualified, ideally from an electrical engineering background
  • At least 10 years demonstrable full E,C&I project management experience within the nuclear industry or similar regulated background
  • Must have good customer facing skills
  • Experience of NEC3 /4 contracting
  • Must be commercially astute and an experienced negotiator
  • Must have demonstrable track record of achieving project timescales, margins, customer satisfaction and quality
  • Experience of subcontractor management
  • Strong leadership skills, including team management experience
  • Current driving license and must be prepared to travel, with some stays away at customer sites
  • Must be able to gain SC clearance as a minimum

Desirable Requirements:

  • A recognized project management qualification (for example, PRINCE 2, APMP) and/or approved training.
  • A recognized safety qualification (for example IOSH managing Safely) and/or approved training
  • Experience of CEMAR

We are looking for an enthusiastic & driven Engineer to join our newly formed Energy team to commission electrical transmission Substation Control Systems (SCS); from minor modifications through to complete SCS Replacements. This role is suitable for existing Commissioning Engineers or Test Engineers with a desire to move into site commissioning activities. The suitable candidate must be able to communicate effectively with the customer, interpret designs (including schedules, drawings etc.), have an understanding of system engineering design and be prepared to be involved in and eventually lead site visits for the purpose of installation & commissioning work. This position would suit someone who has a good grounding in engineering & an appreciation for test/commissioning techniques, who is keen to work on site and is keen to learn and develop new skills as part of an experienced and committed team.

Site Acceptance Test Support / Commissioning Engineer (N-2023-11)
Due to increasing demand Capula are seeking an additional experienced Site Acceptance Test Support and Commissioning Engineer with a sound Electrical Engineering background to work between our Stone headquarters and client’s sites. Responsible for all site related aspects of delivering Nuclear projects Safely to cost, time and quality specifications, the successful candidate will be qualified as described below and ideally will have recent relevant experience.
