Letham Primary was constructed at the heart of a new build community in which 800 new homes are in the process of being established.

Project Overview

The new School was built to meet the increased demand for primary and nursery placements within the Haddington area and comprises of 14 classrooms for pre-school and primary teaching, a dining hall, social space and a two-court PE hall with retractable seating for performance and community use.

Approach

Dalkia undertook the mechanical and electrical installation for this new building. Working closely with the main contractor Morrison Construction, the MEP designer and the client East Lothian Council, the team ensured the M&E services were procured, installed and completed to budget, meeting the planned build programme.

Result

The project was completed within the required timescale with a slight extension due to the Covid Pandemic, however a fast-track programme was developed to ensure the project would progress quickly and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

Testimonial

Everyone involved in the Letham Primary School project deserves recognition for coming together to create a fantastic new school despite the ongoing pandemic.
