We’re supporting the team at Culham Science Centre with mechanical and electrical engineering services and planned and reactive maintenance alongside minor and major works. Through the timely servicing of assets and standardisation of parts, we’re helping to reduce unexpected breakdowns and inconvenience, minimising the ongoing cost of maintenance and repair.
Our engineers and managed subcontractors handle over 18,000 planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks a year and 6,000 reactive alongside new work to keep the equipment reliable and functional and ensure the centre’s operations run smoothly. Works include air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, water treatment, LEVs and lifts, associated controls, inspection and maintenance of ductwork and pipework, insulation and controls, dampers and valves. We carry out PPM through a mixture of SFG2 (the industry standard for building maintenance specifications), task instructions and manufacturers’ specific instructions.
Our site-based projects team of engineers, plumbers, electricians, combustion engineers and A/C engineers carry out minor and major engineering works, including modifications to the existing plant and systems, boiler house operations and repairs, and total refurbishments. All critical spares and consumables (oils, greases, belts, filters etc.) conform to manufacturers’ recommendations and maintenance manuals. We store the necessary quantities in compliance with site Health & Safety rules and manufacturers’ guidelines.
