Approach
Dalkia’s pre-construction team worked closely with Galliford Try to carry out rationalisation of the scheme in order to achieve the client’s budget whilst demonstrating compliance and an efficient design. We began the process of informing the M&E and building design through the construction of a thermal model whilst our estimating team collaborated with our in-house design team to find the best value for money through the identification of numerous MEP value engineering options.
Result
Early involvement in a project afforded our engineers the opportunity to add value during the pre-construction phase. By understanding the individual building from the outset, we were able to offer value engineered solutions with time efficiencies and a more cost effective installation.
