We are actively recruiting for two Assistant Buyers to join us at Dalkia Energy Services, with each role dedicated to supporting either our North Projects or South Projects:

1 × Assistant Buyer – 12-Month Maternity Cover

1 × Assistant Buyer – Permanent Position

These roles offer a great opportunity to support our Procurement team in ensuring materials, equipment, and services are sourced efficiently and meet our quality standards.

Role Overview

As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role within the Procurement team, supporting the sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services essential to business operations. You will assist in managing supplier relationships, preparing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring that all procured goods meet required quality, cost, and delivery standards. This role is integral to maintaining smooth supply chain operations and helping the organisation achieve its commercial and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Liaise with colleagues throughout the business to identify procurement requirements and ensure procurement schedules and project trackers are kept up to date.
  • Build relationships with suppliers, research for new suppliers and deal with all incoming queries efficiently.
  • Report on and measure supplier performance in order to monitor changes and anomalies.
  • Assist with the management of PQQ process / Onboarding and management of the Supply Chain, including the checking of returned information.
  • Electronic filing of documentation associated with Pre-Qualification Questionnaire returns and assessment.
  • Ensure the approved supplier database is kept up to date following the approval of new suppliers or the removal of existing suppliers.
  • Provide administration support for the procurement department i.e., enquiries, typing of letters, preparation of slide decks and preparation of reports.
  • Ensuring that Procurement processes are followed, maintained and implemented, where required.
  • Setting up of new accounts for both purchase ledger and subcontract ledger, including the upload of required insurance, health and safety and financial payment information.
  • Ensure insurance details of suppliers are kept up to date and that existing suppliers are aware new details are required as old certificates expire.
  • Filing and archiving of documents.
  • Support the Senior Procurement Manager in delivering the Procurement Plan and Strategy.

Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience 

  • Experience in a purchasing or supply chain management role within a construction business or procurement environment or equivalent.
  • Organised and competent in working within established processes and systems
  • Be proactive and forward thinking, with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage your own workload and deadlines.
  • Analytical awareness and problem solving ability
  • Excellent IT and Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of Microsoft NAV would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and rational skills are essential.
  • Desire to train to increase exposure and develop management experience within the business is preferred.

Technical Asset Manager
Reporting to the Head of Asset Performance, we are currently seeking a full-time Technical Asset Manager to manage our portfolio of energy assets. This is a customer-facing role and will involve optimising technical performance to ensure assets deliver the contractual obligations. A suitable candidate for this role would possess solid multi-tasking and prioritising skills, as they would be required to oversee numerous assets within the portfolio. You will also have keen attention to detail, be highly driven, an innovative thinker with a strong team-work ethic to hit the ground running and thrive in this busy and successful organisation. You will be experienced in managing commercial scale mechanical and electrical (M&E) assets. This must include major plant such as air source and water source heat pumps, CHP, boilers, steam systems, HTHW and LTHW water services, pumping systems, BMS, chillers and chilled water systems. Experience in boreholes and renewables including ground source, air source, Solar PV and battery storage would be advantageous.
