Location: Torness Power Station
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Shift pattern: Between 07:00 and 15:00

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Chef Manager with a strong track record of managing kitchen teams and delivering high-quality catering services in a fast-paced, professional environment to lead our on-site operation at Torness Power Station.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on cooking with team leadership, high standards, and structured daytime hours.

Key Responsibilities

As Chef Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality catering service while leading and supporting a small kitchen team. Your duties will include:

  • Preparing and serving a varied range of hot and cold breakfast and lunch options
  • Leading, motivating, and managing the kitchen team on a daily basis
  • Ensuring excellent standards of food quality, presentation, and service
  • Maintaining high levels of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene compliance
  • Menu planning, costing, and budget management
  • Ordering stock and managing kitchen supplies efficiently
  • Ensuring all regulatory and company standards are consistently met
  • Carrying out line management responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a confident and reliable professional who brings both culinary expertise and strong leadership skills. You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Chef Manager or Catering Manager
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a busy kitchen environment
