Location: Torness Power Station
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Shift pattern: Between 07:00 and 15:00
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Chef Manager with a strong track record of managing kitchen teams and delivering high-quality catering services in a fast-paced, professional environment to lead our on-site operation at Torness Power Station.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on cooking with team leadership, high standards, and structured daytime hours.
Key Responsibilities
As Chef Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality catering service while leading and supporting a small kitchen team. Your duties will include:
- Preparing and serving a varied range of hot and cold breakfast and lunch options
- Leading, motivating, and managing the kitchen team on a daily basis
- Ensuring excellent standards of food quality, presentation, and service
- Maintaining high levels of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene compliance
- Menu planning, costing, and budget management
- Ordering stock and managing kitchen supplies efficiently
- Ensuring all regulatory and company standards are consistently met
- Carrying out line management responsibilities
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a confident and reliable professional who brings both culinary expertise and strong leadership skills. You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Chef Manager or Catering Manager
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements
- The ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a busy kitchen environment
