Dalkia have an opportunity for a Logistics Operative to join their growing facilities management team, working across the facilities at Sizewell C.

Hours

  • 40 hours per week
  • The role will start as Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm but could eventually include working in a split shift to include working Saturdays to meet the clients demands.

General Overview

This role is based at Sizewell C’ – Primarily responsible for the escorting of tanked water deliveries to all sites as and, where required, acting as banksman, and reporting incidents where water could not be delivered.

Also be required to support all other site general duties to include (but not exhaustive) driving / delivery of services, materials and goods as essential to operate the Sizewell C sites effectively. Ensuring that the facilities provide a safe and secure environment that enables the client’s staff to concentrate on their business activities with minimum disruption.

You will be an integral part of the Dalkia on site team in ensuring that the Sizewell C’ operation runs smoothly and are successful in supporting business activities and for providing a professional service for our client.

Duties

  • Meet tanker at designated location and escort to relevant sites delivering water via selected route.
  • Keep detailed records and inventory of all deliveries to include Date, Time, Location, Amount, Depart Time, Time taken at Location.
  • Carry out daily checks on your assigned vehicle, inspecting for damage, fuel levels, oil levels, coolant levels, and windscreen wash levels as required.
  • Report any incidents, damages to the Logistics and Porterage Lead.
  • Adhere to all Company health and safety requirements and expectations.
  • Be prepared to undertake additional training to aid flexibility. Essentially Banksman training.
  • Identify areas where improvements need to be made and ensuring these are carried out supporting the Site Manager in achieving the desired site standards.
  • Make suggestions to improve the services of the team.
  • Wear the appropriate uniforms and safety equipment where required at all times.
  • Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, and you may be required to assist the business with other duties as appropriate, including overtime and weekend work.

Impact

  • This role is to ensure that Dalkia have the correct resource levels to meet the contract and client expectations; there is no direct responsibility for budgets or people.

Complexity

  • Supporting Sizewell C staff who typically works from 7am – 7pm without creating undue trouble and being always polite.
    Managing the workload when other members of the team on holiday / absent.

Qualifications or Required Experience

  • Role in similar position preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well without supervision
  • Highly motivated
  • Clean Driving License
  • Good client facing skills

DELIVERING: Ensuring that the driving is delivered in line with Dalkia health and safety policies and quality procedures

CONTRIBUTING: Ensuring that the driving is undertaken to meet contract obligations, and any issues raised are closed out in a timely fashion and manner.

DEVELOPING: Identifying training gaps and liaising with the FM Management to ensure that you are fully trained and competent to undertake all aspects of your job and tasks.
