Role Overview
You will report to the Managing Director of Dalkia Energy Services and be a member of the Division’s Executive team. The Projects Director is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of energy infrastructure and decarbonisation projects located in London and the South of England, each up to value of c.£50m, ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality project delivery.
In this role you will be accountable for the Projects from design development through to the successful completion of construction, driving performance across the programme, commercial outcomes, stakeholder engagement and team development.
You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of design engineers and project managers, as well as having oversight of key third party contractors. You will work in collaboration with teams from across the wider business, including Commercial, QSHE and Energy Engineers to ensure the successful completion of the projects within your regional portfolio.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Full ownership and oversight of the financial performance of the projects within the regional portfolio, including accountability for the P&L.
- Accountability for projects from design development through to successful completion of construction, ensuring each phase is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards.
- Lead client relationship throughout project delivery and build long-term client relationships with a view to identifying and securing future opportunities for Dalkia.
- Establish delivery strategies in coordination with other Functions, build project teams and select supply chain partners
- Full responsibility for all QSHE activity across the project portfolio, ensuring compliance with all UK legal, regulatory and Dalkia UK QSHE standards.
- Establish and maintain strong governance, controls and reporting mechanisms.
- Responsible for mobilising project teams and ensuring resource plans are aligned to agreed budgets.
- Lead, motivate and develop multi-disciplinary regional team, promoting a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and accountability.
Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience
- Substantial experience as an Operations and/or Projects Director in a Main Contractor / Principal Contractor role.
- A proven track record in delivering complex design and construction contracts, with significant M&E packages.
- Experience of design and delivery of Energy Performance Contracts, and carbon reduction projects is preferable.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, including oversight of subcontractors.
- Experience in managing client, sub-contractor and internal stakeholders.
- Sound commercial acumen, with experience of being responsible for project P&L and in-depth knowledge of Energy Performance Contracts.
- Working knowledge of the NEC and JCT forms of construction contract.
- Relevant industry experience and knowledge of target market [Energy performance Contracting, District Energy] is preferrable.
- Eligible to live and work in the UK with a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Training:
- Construction or engineering degree.
- APM qualified, and active member of APM institute preferred.
- Experience in building internal processes and procedures in a growing business.
