Senior Planner

We’re looking for a Senior Planner to drive efficiency and support our business strategy for long-term profitability. Based at Sizewell Power Station in Ipswich, you’ll oversee the delivery programme across a portfolio of Dalkia Nuclear Projects, monitoring performance, identifying waste, and implementing improvements to make every stage of the project process as efficient and effective as possible.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Strong experience across the full project and programme lifecycle (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning) within the Power or Nuclear industries.
  • Strong numeracy, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project reporting tools.
  • Experienced in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, ideally in a highly regulated environment.
  • Proficient in scheduling, programming, risk management tools, and Earned Value Analysis.
  • Able to use initiative and work independently while supporting the project team.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills with the ability to build relationships.
  • Experienced in managing performance, giving feedback, and agreeing on changes.
  • Excellent time and priority management, with the ability to work flexibly within project demands while meeting EDF Energy procedural and quality standards.
  • Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ability to reconcile cost information against project programmes and support successful project delivery.
  • Eligibility to pass CTC / SC clearances

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules across a portfolio, ensuring alignment with scope, constraints, and commitments.
  • Establish and control cost and resource-loaded baseline plans using Primavera P6, in line with company and EDF Energy processes.
  • Capture and time-phase project budgetary costs and resources to support forecasting and business planning.
  • Define and maintain robust Work Breakdown Structures and Project Control Structures reflecting full project scope.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and teams to ensure schedules are achievable, fit-for-purpose, and integrated across all activities.
  • Monitor programme and cost performance using Earned Value Analysis, identifying variances and proposing mitigation measures.
  • Interface with site teams, contractors, and third parties to integrate schedules, progress data, and updates into the plan.
  • Support decision-making by providing timely, accurate reports and analysis of schedule, cost, and risk impacts.
  • Maintain control of project baselines and ensure changes are fully understood and communicated to the project team.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement at project close-out.
