Senior Quantity Surveyor

Dalkia Engineering is pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong Mechanical and Electrical background to join our Specialist Services Team.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in supporting multiple nuclear sites across the North, providing hands-on commercial leadership across a variety of meaningful projects.

We’re flexible on location, and the role can be based in either Birmingham or Bolton, depending on what works best for you.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in commercial management and subcontractor procurement.
  • Professional Qualification (e.g HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of monthly reporting processes and requirements.
  • Ability to mentor, support, and positively influence other members of the commercial team.
  • Proven experience within the construction industry, specifically with an M&E subcontractor, and a solid working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
  • M&E subcontracting background is essential.
  • Demonstrable track record in cost control, reporting, subcontractor management, and change management.
  • Experience working within live, operational environments is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple Nuclear projects, including procurement, cost reporting, and contract administration.
  • Measure and value works both onsite and from drawings, covering valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Prepare and submit Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cost to complete assessments.
  • Manage and maximise project cash flow.
  • Produce accurate cash flow and turnover forecasts.
  • Complete internal valuations, CVRs, and subcontract liability reports in line with accounting period schedules and deadlines.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and agree final accounts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure full compliance with contract terms (NEC, JCT, etc.) and internal governance requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders

Construction Design Lead (CDM 2015)
As a Construction Design Lead and CDM 2015, you will be responsible for supporting the design process across all phases of construction projects, ensuring that all design activities are compliant with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. You will be required to identify and mitigate design-related health and safety risks from the earliest stages. Your role involves Supporting multidisciplinary design teams, supporting design deliverables in line with project timelines, and ensuring that all design outputs are technically sound, buildable, and aligned with client requirements. You will support the integration of digital tools such as BIM, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and ensure that all design information is clearly communicated to construction teams.
