Senior Quantity Surveyor
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with in-depth knowledge of NEC3 contracts to join our talented team supporting the Urenco project at Capenhurst, Chester. This pivotal site-based commercial role involves overseeing major construction projects, ensuring robust cost control, contract administration, and commercial risk management.
Who We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience in senior QS roles within construction and infrastructure sectors.
- Proficient in NEC3/4 contract forms (ECC Options A, B, C, etc.).
- Skilled in managing project finances from inception to final account.
- Proficient in industry-standard software.
- Experienced in developing and monitoring project budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and cost reports.
- Familiar with engineering document management systems, ideally within regulated industries.

What you’ll be doing
- Lead the commercial function on complex construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring financial performance aligns with business objectives.
- Administer NEC contracts (e.g., ECC, PSC), ensuring compliance with contract terms and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, and forecasts in line with company procedures, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs against budgets, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Handle change control processes, including compensation events and early warnings, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts, ensuring all financial aspects are accurately recorded and reported.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve commercial issues, fostering strong professional relationships.
- Provide contractual and commercial advice to project teams, supporting decision-making and risk management.
- Support procurement strategy and tender evaluation, ensuring value for money and compliance with company procedures.
- Mentor and support junior commercial staff, fostering professional development and ensuring adherence to company standards.
