About the Role

As the Heysham 2 Site Manager, you’ll lead onsite construction and installation activities across a range of multidiscipline engineering projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers and supervisors, you’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contract requirements and The Dalkia Way. You’ll be a key figure within our growing Nuclear North business, trusted to build strong relationships, drive high performance and champion best practice from project inception through to commissioning and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the successful construction and installation of engineering projects from design through to close-out.
  • Manage onsite construction teams, subcontractors and multidisciplinary activities.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of safety, quality, productivity and project delivery.
  • Lead tendering, pricing and feasibility activities for small–medium engineering work packages.
  • Review designs, drawings and technical specifications to ensure constructability.
  • Prepare and monitor method statements, risk assessments and project plans.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE standards, policies and procedures—ensuring all colleagues “Come Home Safe”.
  • Manage site conditions, resources, labour levels and performance standards.
  • Support commercial activity including variations, progress reporting and payment applications.
  • Drive continuous improvement, best practice and innovation in methods of work.
  • Support commissioning plans, performance testing and witnessing activities.
  • Oversee snagging, handover documentation and O&M manual preparation.
  • Participate in client aftercare and post-handover support.
  • Support accurate cost reporting, billing and cashflow management.
  • Ensure strong commercial control and alignment with the Dalkia Engineering business plan.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong experience across MEP construction and installation.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to question, challenge and continuously improve processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of H&S systems, commissioning processes and engineering standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; MS Project/Asta desirable.
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset with a passion for excellence.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and develop teams.
  • Calm under pressure, accountable and resilient.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Level 3 ONC / Level 4 HNC in Construction or Engineering discipline.
  • NVQ Level 3 Construction Site Supervision or SMSTS.
  • Relevant Electrical Supervisor qualifications (C&G 2391, 18th Edition, BS7671).
  • H&S qualification, First Line Management qualification.
  • CSCS Engineer Skillcard or JIB/ECS (Black).
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desired:

  • BEng/MEng or higher-level construction/engineering qualifications.
  • ILM Level 3–5 in Leadership & Management.
  • Experience with MS Project or Asta PowerProject.
