Dalkia is seeking a Subcontractor Manager to join our team at Hinkley Point. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the management and coordination of subcontractors on site, ensuring compliance, safety, and high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update SMOC records for all subcontractors.
- Verify and ensure all subcontractor documentation is current and compliant before site access is granted.
- Actively supervise subcontractor activities on site to ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards and high-quality work.
- Meet and brief subcontractors upon arrival; supervise their activities throughout the duration of their work.
- Conduct thorough setting-to-work processes and pre-job briefs as required.
- Review and validate subcontractor RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) prior to the start of work; ensure understanding and compliance on-site.
- For high-risk tasks, obtain prior approval from the local ISM and ensure RAMS are reviewed and signed off accordingly.
- Perform routine spot checks and audits of subcontractor activity to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with operations managers and supervisors to plan and support subcontractor works effectively.
- Monitor and review subcontractor performance regularly; report any H&S issues to relevant operational stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day subcontractor management on site.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an individual with strong organisational and Health & Safety capabilities, capable of fostering strong relationships with subcontractors and internal teams.
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards completion within 6 months).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a relevant role (e.g., Subcontractor Management, Compliance, H&S, Works Management, QA).
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and driving H&S performance.
- Strong understanding of H&S management systems and compliance processes.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels.
- Effective organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with technical or facilities disciplines.
