Dalkia have an opportunity for a Workspace Manager to join their growing facilities management team, working across the facilities at Sizewell C.

 

Overview

The Workspace Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of workspace facilities on site, ensuring the effective allocation, auditing, and maintenance of workspace furniture, including desks and staff lockers. Leading a small team of Workspace Coordinators, you will ensure all workspace assets are well maintained and compliant as well as working with the Mobilisation & Project Manager to ensure new buildings are set up on time with the workspace furniture required to provide a great working environment. This role requires delivering a high standard of customer service to site personnel and stakeholders, supporting an efficient and well-organised working environment.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and line-manage the Workspace Coordinators and Space Planner to ensure the effective delivery of workspace furniture services across the site.
  • Oversee the allocation, auditing, and maintenance of workspace furniture, including desks, lockers, and associated equipment.
  • Ensure all workspace furniture are maintained to a high standard, fit for purpose, and compliant with site and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Mobilisation & Project Manager to plan and implement the setup of new buildings, ensuring all workspace furniture and facilities i.e. Lockers are ready for use on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records of workspace allocations, asset movements, and audit findings.
  • Develop and implement processes to optimise workspace utilisation and improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to address workspace or equipment issues promptly.
  • Monitor and report on the condition and performance of workspace assets, escalating maintenance needs where required.
  • Manage desk allocations and workspace reservations using the Matrix Desk Booking System to ensure efficient use of office space.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all site personnel, ensuring workspace issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of workplace standards, contributing to a safe, efficient, and positive working environment.

Leadership & People Management

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small team to deliver high-quality workplace services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Capable of prioritising workloads, delegating tasks, and managing performance effectively.

Operational & Organisational Skills

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records, audits, and asset management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound operational decisions under pressure.

Technical & Facilities Knowledge

  • Understanding of facilities management operations, including asset maintenance, audits, and workspace planning.
  • Awareness of health and safety standards, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
  • Competence in using computer systems and software (e.g., Excel, CAFM systems, databases) to manage information and reporting.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional service to internal customers and stakeholders.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of an organisation.
  • Professional, approachable, and proactive attitude when dealing with staff enquiries and operational challenges.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in facilities management, workplace coordination, or a related operational role (essential).
  • Proven experience supervising or managing a small team (essential).
  • Good knowledge of workplace health and safety practices (essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital record-keeping systems, CAD, CAFM (essential).
  • Relevant qualification in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field, e.g. IWFM Level 3 or above (desirable).
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety certification (desirable).
  • Experience working on large or complex sites such as construction or industrial projects (desirable)
  • CITB
