Who We’re Looking For

  • Practical understanding of services discipline associated with the role this being Mechanical bias.
  • HNC/HND qualifications in either Mechanical discipline (advantageous)
  • Experience in the management of a wide range of construction operations, including phasing and contingency planning, together with testing and handover.
  • Highly numerate, with strong commercial awareness and good technical knowledge
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Strong decision-making ability.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Able to provide expert technical knowledge to support work winning.

What you’ll be doing

  • Monitor project delivery, identifying risks and opportunities, and working closely with key stakeholders to optimise outcomes.
  • Assess the constructability of proposed designs and ensure that design teams produce practical, buildable solutions within project timescales.
  • Lead the delivery of construction works in compliance with all company processes and safety protocols.
  • Review and approve contractor documentation, as delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Support and develop the supervisory and engineering teams; contribute to project steering groups and cross-discipline initiatives.
  • Conduct initial site surveys and liaise with designers to inform early-stage planning.
  • Proofread and approve technical drawings for accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Maintain a relentless focus on Zero Harm and safety excellence.
  • Take full ownership of handover documentation for your section.
  • Drive operational target programmes aligned with the overall construction plan.
  • Liaise with off-site teams to share knowledge and apply best practices.
  • Manage subcontractors, advising on commercial aspects, operational risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • RAMS and Quality Plans for client review.
  • Carry out EDF specific training in becoming EDF approved field supervisor, nominated competent person, WOC specifier and Nominated supervisor.
