Senior Estimator – Energy Services

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team and play a key role at the Project Development stage, working closely with our Business Development and Technical teams. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved early from concept and feasibility through to early design helping shape commercially sound, deliverable, and affordable projects.

In this role, you won’t just price projects you’ll influence strategy, challenge assumptions, and provide the cost clarity that enables confident investment decisions across our energy services portfolio.

What you’ll be doing

• Partnering with Business Development and Technical teams to build robust outline estimates from early-stage information such as concept and feasibility designs
• Providing clear cost insight to support project affordability, investment decisions, and risk management
• Compiling and analysing data from multiple sources to produce accurate and well-structured cost estimates
• Evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure value, competitiveness, and accuracy
• Estimating labour, materials, plant, and equipment costs across a range of energy and construction projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to fully understand scope and risk
• Working collaboratively with project managers and wider stakeholders throughout the development process
• Identifying, assessing, and communicating cost risks and opportunities
• Producing post-project cost reports to improve future estimating accuracy and benchmarking
• Managing tender governance requirements and ensuring estimating processes meet internal standards

(This role will evolve with the business, offering variety and ongoing development.)

What we’re looking for

• A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Proven experience as an Estimator within the energy services or construction sector, ideally covering one or more of the following:
  • Commercial refurbishment
  • Energy efficiency projects
  • Heat networks
  • Energy centres
  • MEP works
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with a sharp eye for detail
• Experience producing cost estimates from early-stage or incomplete design information
• Confident communicator, able to engage and influence a range of stakeholders
• A structured, accurate, and commercially minded approach
