Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E)

Dalkia Engineering have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Mechanical and Electrical to join our talented team at the Birmingham Airport. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile project working with an established team completing multiple refurbishment projects within a live airport.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Professional Qualification (e.g HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
  • RICS Chartership or working towards is highly desirable
  • Proven experience of working within the Construction industry for an M&E Subcontractor, with a sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract (essential)
  • Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team.
  • Proven track record in cost control, reporting, subcontractor management, and change management.
  • Experience working in live, operational environments (aviation, healthcare, etc.) (desirable)

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the commercial management of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) works across Birmingham Airport projects, including procurement, cost reporting, and contract administration.
  • Measure and value works both on-site and from drawings for valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Prepare and submit Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cost to complete forecasts to support accurate financial control and project delivery.
  • Manage and maximise project cash flow, ensuring timely payments and financial efficiency.
  • Produce cash flow and turnover forecasts.
  • Deliver internal valuations, CVRs, and subcontract liability reports in line with accounting period schedules and deadlines.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and agree subcontractor and supplier accounts.
  • Ensure full compliance with contract terms (e.g. NEC or JCT) and internal commercial governance processes.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
