Cisco Chooses Dalkia for Lifecycle Replacement Contract

Dalkia successfully demonstrated the ability to undertake the replacement works in a live building environment to secure the win.

In July 2023, the Imtech group company rebranded to Dalkia.

Dalkia, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has won a four-month lifecycle replacement contract with Cisco, the multinational technology conglomerate, at their UK flagship office in Bedfont Lakes, Feltham.

This is the first contract that Dalkia has carried out for Cisco and encompasses plant replacement in 3no live buildings. The work is being carried out as the plant has been in place for nineteen years and requires an upgrade.

We have been really impressed with the cost efficiency and high standard of service received so far and look forward to seeing the final results.

Archie Roy, Capital Programme Manager, Workplace Resources at Cisco

As part of the works, Dalkia will be carrying out the full replacement of existing boilers, including new flue dilution systems. The company will also be responsible for the replacement of chilled water (CHW) pumps, replacement of kitchen AHU and extractor fan, the installation of a new hot water supply system to serve the kitchen, the replacement of the heat pump that serves the atrium underfloor heating in the largest of the 3no buildings and the installation of new AC units serving the Client Product Demonstration Lab and the Comms Room.

Dalkia will also complete a Building Management Systems (BMS) upgrade, including the installation of new ADX server and replacement of existing network control & automation engines to meet the requirements of the Metasys Revision 10 software.

As with any works that need to be carried out in a live building environment, it is necessary to undertake the upgrade works with minimal interruption to the client. To overcome this challenge in the common areas and the kitchen specifically, Dalkia will execute the works over three weekends to minimise the kitchen shut down period.

Dalkia engineer, manage and optimise smart spaces and places, leveraging emerging technologies for our customers that improve where people work, learn and live, so it’s fantastic to work for another organisation that is also helping to enhance people’s lives using the latest technologies.

Steven Farmer, Divisional Managing Director, Dalkia

In order to successfully complete the contract, Dalkia will also need to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders. For example, because the works impact the external aesthetic of the building, they will be required to obtain planning permission from the local authority as well as the office landlord.

Steven Farmer, Divisional Managing Director at Dalkia, said, “We are excited to embark on this new relationship with Cisco and hope that these works open up additional opportunities to work together in the future.

Archie Roy, Capital Programme Manager, Workplace Resources at Cisco said, “It’s clear that Dalkia has an incredibly specialist team who are able to deliver against our precise requirements, while ensuring that our employees can continue with their day-to-day activities. We have been really impressed with the cost efficiency and high standard of service received so far and look forward to seeing the final results.
