Dalkia has been awarded a new contract under its framework agreement for the refurbishment of central London offices for Places for People Group.
The new framework contract is the latest contract that Dalkia has undertaken for Places for People, having first started working with them in 2013 on office fit out works. The refurbishment work encompasses a range of intelligent solutions aimed at improving the staff experience of Places for People’s employees.
We’re delighted to work once more with Dalkia on our refurbished Regional Hub office, having previously been impressed with the standard of work they have delivered in the past.

Improvements include a gym, cycle store, and shower facilities, increased number of meeting rooms with updated audiovisual technology, a new vending area, breakout spaces and acoustic pods. The refurbished office will also be equipped with occupancy sensors to allow Places for People to monitor space utilisation and optimise energy usage.
Dalkia was awarded the contract thanks to the collaborative, joined-up approach that they applied to the task. By bringing together Building, Mechanical & Electrical and fire & security engineering expertise from across the Dalkia business, the approach delivered the best value possible for Places for People and helped Dalkia stand out in the pitch process. As part of this process, Dalkia worked to produce the integrated M&E design, which will now be executed by the delivery team.
We’re incredibly pleased to continue our work with Places for People as they modernise their facilities.
Steven Farmer, Divisional Managing Director, Dalkia
With the location of the new Places for People office being in the centre of London, near to Kings Cross St Pancras Station, site logistics will be a major challenge: the site is on a red route with restricted waiting and loading times, meaning that organisation of just-in-time deliveries and daily waste collections is of paramount importance during the contract.
Steven Farmer, Divisional Managing Director at Dalkia, said, “Drawing on the wide range of skills from across the Dalkia business, we were able to demonstrate how a coordinated approach would deliver great value whilst ensuring a high-quality standard of work. We look forward to working with Places for People over the coming weeks and hope to continue our strong relationship in the future.”
Martin Hughes, Head of Corporate Facilities at Places for People, said, “We’re delighted to work once more with Dalkia on our refurbished Regional Hub office, having previously been impressed with the standard of work they have delivered in the past. With logistics a major factor in the successful delivery of the project, the joined-up approach that Dalkia has demonstrated gave us the confidence that they will deliver to our specifications.”
