Dalkia completes work for Bolton NHS Foundation Trust with £6.3m investment

(London, 17th July 2018) – Dalkia is pleased to announce the completion of work to deliver energy savings through an Energy Performance Contract agreed with Bolton NHS Foundation Trust estate in 2015.

In July 2023, the Imtech group company rebranded to Dalkia.

The completed project has seen a £6.3m investment in the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust estate at the Royal Bolton Hospital with an Energy Performance Contract that will yield guaranteed savings of over £0.8m per annum. This will also see the reduction of Bolton NHS carbon emissions by 34%.

The work Dalkia has done on this project brings significant energy saving investments to the Trust’s estate. This investment also greatly enhances the Trust’s ability to reduce its CO₂ emissions and energy consumption.

These savings have been achieved by the removal of the existing coal boilers and replacement with a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant; a new energy efficient boiler; chiller replacement; Building Management System modifications, calorifier replacement with plate heat exchangers, faulty steam trap replacement; water borehole installation and external lighting replacement.

The successful implementation and completion of the contract was the result of close working relationships and support between Dalkia and the Trust throughout the entire project.

Gary Parke, Managing Director, Dalkia Energy says: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and to help achieve the Trust’s carbon emission target. This project was achieved through a fully integrated partnership model with the Trust team, combining expertise and knowledge to deliver a significant step change in the Trust’s energy costs and carbon emissions.
