The Scottish Business Pledge is a values-led partnership between Government and business that is focused on enhancing productivity and competitiveness through fairness, equality and sustainable employment. Our commitment, as part of the 818 companies who have made the pledge to date, will help create greater economic success and sustainable, inclusive growth in Scotland.
To be accepted to join the pledge, we had to demonstrate that our business meets three of the mandatory elements as follows:
- Paying the real living wage – decent pay is the bedrock of a thriving society; it reduces inequality and boosts productivity.
- Businesses should avoid inappropriate use of zero hours contracts.
- Take action to address their gender pay gap.
The values that Dalkia uphold align perfectly with those of the Scottish Business Pledge and are testament to being accepted to join. We look forward to continuing to work towards delivering on our chosen commitments and making a difference to create a more prosperous and sustainable Scotland.

Subsequently, we were required to commit to 5 of the 7 remaining elements, choosing which best suit our company. Based on our existing values, initiatives and commitment to continuous improvement, we selected: Investing in a skilled & diverse workforce, mitigating against our impact on the environment, promoting employee-led creativity and innovation, genuinely engaging your staff in decisions that affect them and sharing success with your community.
