The scheme generated a number of variations the most significant of which being the addition of a 21st Transition Piece for utilization as a Spare/Mock Up Trial Unit. Starting on the 1st of December 2017 the contract originally based on a 35-week duration with the introduction of Transition Piece1 and other changes extended until the end of September 2018.
Dalkia has worked with WESL in the past but primarily on Oil and Gas contracts, making this the first renewable energy contract they have undertaken together. They won the competitive tender as a result of its core competencies of Electrical, Instrumentation and Mechanical installation.
We would like to thank Dalkia in providing a high level of service, commitment and installation quality across all 21 Transition Pieces.
Kevin Wilson, Project Manager, WESL
Commenting on the contract win, Philip Kinsella, Divisional Managing Director at Dalkia, said, “we were delighted to continue our long and successful relationship with WESL. Our team’s extensive expertise ensured that all the Transition Pieces were delivered within an industry-leading timescale and in accordance with client expectation.”
Kevin Wilson, Project Manager at WESL, added, “we would like to thank Dalkia in providing a high level of service, commitment and installation quality across all 21 Transition Pieces. This level was instrumental in the praise Wilton Engineering received from the owner Ørsted A/S (formerly DONG Energy) for the high quality of product fit and finish of all our 21 Transition Pieces prior to their take over. As Wilton look to further expand our business into the area of renewable energy, it is reassuring that we can look to Dalkia to assist us with the electrical fit off scope in the knowledge that they will provide a first class and technically compliant installation.”
