Summary of Role:

As a Communication Driver Software Developer, you will be working with a dynamic, creative, and highly technical group of developers.  You will deliver core software solutions for our clients in the Energy sector to enhance the business capabilities and drive additional value from their critical business assets, working with some of the leading technologies to solve complex problems and customer challenges.

As an established developer it is expected you will be able to demonstrate your understanding of software development techniques and methodologies together with proven examples of developing software solutions using development languages such as C++ and you will be comfortable with working in a sandboxed development environment.

The right candidate will be technically astute, capable of analysing problems and developing fit for purpose solutions, as well as being an excellent communicator both to internal and external stakeholders.

It is preferred that the right candidate has experience of working in the Energy sector and of developing communications drivers for industrial control systems but this is not an essential requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing communications drivers for industrial control systems
  • Following digital development standards & methodologies

Key Technologies:

  • A solid understanding and demonstrable experience in at least the following software development languages: C++
  • It would be beneficial to have an knowledge of IIoT platforms – ThingWorx , Aveva technology stack,  analytical tools,  digital twins and machine learning, or other relevant operational technology information systems.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrable experience developing communications drivers
  • At least 3 years of experience as a software developer
  • Solid understanding of software development delivery methodologies; Agile, V-Model and/or waterfall
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and deployment processes
  • Experience in working as part of software development team and being able to clearly articulate themselves to colleagues, or other members of the delivery team, including senior management
  • Keen interest in Industrial IoT technologies
  • Successfully completed technical degree (Bachelor, Master, Diploma) or a comparable qualification with relevant experience in the area of Software Engineering.
  • Excellent communication and team skills.
  • Structured and analytical way of working.
  • Confident appearance in an international environment.
  • Ability to cope under pressure and prioritise work accordingly.
  • Full drivers licence and willingness to travel.
