Dalkia UK, have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Handy Person to join us at our EDF office in Exeter.

Dalkia UK are a facilities maintenance company. We maintain a range of offices and premises on behalf of our parent company, EDF Energy. We are looking for an experienced Handy Person to join the team to help maintain building services and environmental conditions within our EDF corporate office on Grenadier Rd, Exeter.

Hours

40 hours per week

Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm

 

The Role

  • Carrying out activities safely in compliance with company and client processes and procedures
  • Supporting contract team in delivering services for customer
  • Carrying out reactive maintenance activities within skillset
  • Carrying out planned maintenance activities within skillset
  • Carrying out small minor works
  • Supporting engineering team with planned and reactive maintenance
  • Identifying faults and defects and reporting these to helpdesk team prior to them being reported
  • Carrying out ad-hoc activities
  • Maintaining records within logbooks
  • Carrying out site tours and reporting of faults and hazards
  • Carrying out management checks
  • Progression of planned and reactive tasks via electronic device to achieve contractual SLA’s

All general basic maintenance repairs such as:

  • Painting and Decorating
  • Carpentry
  • Basic Plumbing inc. water treatment
  • Basic electrical tasks
  • Cleaning air handling units
  • Emergency light and fire alarm checks
  • Furniture repairs
  • Any other ad-hoc duties

 

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • IOSH Working Safely
  • Basic hard services skills (fabric, M&E, general maintenance)
  • Previous experience in a similar role (ideally minimum 3 years)
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Good written skills
  • Clear communication skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Able to work without close supervision and also willing to support the wider team
  • Any relevant training courses will be beneficial
