Logistics Co-ordinator – Nuclear Sector

Brief Description

The Logistics Co-ordinator will work in collaboration with the Project Managers and accountable to the Logistics Manager, to support our project teams in providing the logistical management of a complex and technical construction challenge.

They will maintain all aspects of a Dalkia project Logistics Plan and support the project team by overseeing the supply chain operations. The Logistics Co-ordinator is to ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery and movement of all plant, equipment, materials and resources to, from and around the project. Depending on project size this may include support to more than one project.

They will continue to develop knowledge and contribute to the systems, procedures, documents, software and processes Dalkia use for the digital information delivery of a project. This will include the maintenance of data to ensure Dalkia’s KPI’s are met.

Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in logistics or supply chain co-ordination is required. A good working knowledge of the logistics management within the nuclear industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

It is expected that the following responsibilities can be carried out independently by the candidate.

Key responsibilities, but not limited to:
• Manage and optimize the flow of materials, plant, equipment and resources of suppliers to projects.
• Implement logistics strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs to improve project delivery.
• Provide support and guidance to Dalkia and suppliers in gaining access to a high security site by managing security procedures and applications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and client requirements.
• Following the information and security control procedures applicable to the project.
• Ensuring all documentation meets company and client standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to improve processes.
• Produce progress reports where required.
• Conducting reviews and document audits on subcontractors.
• Using digital tools to organise and distribute documents within the company and to clients as required.
• Liaise with the client’s team and maintain a good working relationship.
• Ensure logistics objectives are achieved and maintained.

Knowledge
• Working knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements and safety standards.
• Knowledge of construction, waste management, controls and quality management systems.
• Working Knowledge of electronic data recording and documentation control.

• Understanding of logistics processes, inventory management, and transportation.

• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Previous Experience Required

This role is intended for a candidate with previous experience (3+ years) in a Logistics Co-ordinator role with a detailed working knowledge of logistics management systems.

Experience of working in a fast-moving construction environment and the control of plant and equipment.

Experience of working in a nuclear construction environment is ideally required but not essential as training will be provided.
Proven experience working within a similar role, with experience of compliance within an engineering environment.
