Quality Assurance Manager

Play a pivotal role in the core Operations team, working to continually improve both the scope and outputs of the quality assurance service offered to the business working closely with other design and operations team members in delivering support.

Ensure that the project quality plan is functionally compliant with Dalkia’s ISO9001 procedures, identifying quality assurance scope, major constraints and contract requirements. Establish and agree key methods of construction quality checks, hold points, installation and commissioning planning.

To provide positive management for Dalkia on quality issues and promote the adoption of quality assurance best practice and an enthusiastic quality assurance culture that delivers positive commitment to, and engages all employees in, continuous improvement in quality performance.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Ensure full compliance with the Dalkia Quality process requirements
  • Apply appropriate governance and oversight to quality requirements for Specialist Services
  • Compile a surveillance plan to address Quality related risks associated with the Specialist services Operations Portfolio.
  • Complete internal audits in line with agreed surveillance plan across the Dalkia Specialist Services business units.
  • Reviewing, commenting on and assisting with the mark-up of Quality Plans, Quality Programmes and Project Quality Documents
  • Assisting Project Managers and Site Managers in carrying out surveillance, inspection and audit visits to manufacturers and sub-contractors on or off site as required
  • Acting as team champion for Quality Assurance by:
  1. Being our first point of contact with both Dalkia Engineering and the clients QA Groups
  2. Ensuring the project activities comply with Corporate Quality standards & procedures.
  3. Acting as first point of contact for advice on Quality Plans and Quality arrangements for Specialist Services
  • Maintaining awareness of relevant procedures and disseminating information on requirements, changes, and updates by establishing and maintaining links with Dalkia Engineering QA Manager
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities within the Project Delivery System (PDS) and associated Quality Management System
  • Assisting in maintaining supply chain & contractor quality arrangements; including monitoring of their quality plans, method statements and other procedures
  • Establish, monitor, and supporting change management including Design Change Notifications (DCN) and Early Warnings / Compensation Events
  • Maintaining and logging of surveillance close outs, non-conformities and associated trend analysis
  • Complete a monthly report on quality performance identifying good practices and any deteriorating trends to the Specialist Services Senior leadership Team
  • Assisting with document control issues, including project close out and archiving activities
  • Contribute to Lessons Learnt process throughout the Project lifecycle

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

The knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the position are:

Essential

  • HNC/HND qualifications in Quality Management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in auditing and surveillance of Dalkia and sub-contractor activities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Quality Management standards and guidelines including the current versions of BS EN ISO09001
  • Internal and external Auditor in Quality Management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Quality Management practices, methods and processes. This should include experience within Projects Quality Management
  • Practical understanding of services discipline associated with the role.
  • Collaborative working environment experience
  • Experience in the management of a wide range of construction operations, including phasing and contingency planning, together with testing and handover
  • Strong leadership skills, with a collaborative leadership style
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong decision-making ability
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills Able to provide expert knowledge to support the governance and oversight of the Quality requirements
  • Experience should include a focus on safety performance management and effective influencing of construction teams (Both Internal Staff and Specialist Contractors).

Desirable

Highly Regulated Industries, not limited to –

  • Life Sciences Industry specific experience
  • GMP knowledge
  • Nuclear Industry experience
