Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in supporting the Project Manager, ensuring the successful delivery and financial outcomes of our projects. This position requires alignment with our Commercial Strategy and adherence to all operational, financial, and legislative standards. You will need to be standalone, self-sufficient, and know when to raise an issue. You will handle multiple projects of varying values and support the growing business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Contractual Management:
- Manage contractual issues alongside the Project Manager and Commercial management team.
Supply Chain Management:
- Foster positive relationships with subcontractors and ensure proper subcontract agreements.
- Control and assess subcontractor accounts, variations, and final settlements in line with company procedures.
Project Performance:
- Enhance the commercial performance of project teams.
- Prime Project Managers on key contract risks and opportunities.
- Participate in project validations and monthly reviews of profit, turnover, and cash receipts.
Change control:
- Manage changes to the scope of work, ensuring all variation orders are received and costs are agreed upon promptly.
- Prepare comprehensive impact assessments on cost changes, installation periods, and project completion working closely with wider project teams.
Financial Control:
- Prepare and submit interim payment applications, analyse payment notices, and monitor cash receipts.
- Recover outstanding debts and resolve financial exceptions.
- Produce ongoing cost reconciliations and monthly project forecasts.
Stakeholder Relations:
- Develop proactive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to facilitate sound business decisions.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid Driving License
Desirable Qualifications:
- BA or BSc Degree
- Membership in RICS, CIOB, or equivalent
- Experience with NEC contracts
- Eligibility to attain UK Security Clearance (desired but not essential)
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or vast experience as an assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to make the next step in their career.
Personal Qualities:
- Confident, capable, and able to work accurately both independently and within a team
- Quick learner with a clear understanding of client requirements
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive and willing to take ownership of workstreams
- IT basic skills excel / word / outlook, use of other systems with training
