Project Overview

The focus on the CCU’s is helping women maintain, or in some cases, rebuild links with family, friends and community. Supported through individually tailored programmes to access the community following a multi-agency risk assessment and will include access to:

  • Health and leisure services
  • Employment and voluntary services
  • Opportunities to test out new skills gained through reflection and work on precursors to offending e.g. misuse of drugs and alcohol

The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) plan to have five CCU’s in Scotland in total, each capable of accommodating circa 20 women. They will be in close proximity to local services and good transport links.

Approach

Dalkia worked in partnership with Ogilvie Construction delivering the M&E package for the first two CCU’s in Scotland located in Dundee and Glasgow, along with the installation of renewable technologies to meet the estates net zero carbon ambitions.

Result

Ogilvie took a partnering approach with Dalkia on the new CCU projects and working together we delivered the new facilities to the satisfaction of the Scottish Prison Service.
