As part of the scheme, we designed and installed the mechanical and electrical infrastructure for the site. The distribution network consists of 400mm Chilled Water Systems (CHW) and 250mm Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) pipework totalling over 3.5km long, serving 22 plate heat exchangers to feed the buildings.
The energy centre can deliver 9MW of cooling with associated cooling towers, chillers, pumps and water treatment within a dedicated building with transformers, electrical infrastructure and ventilation.
A critical factor in reducing risk and maintaining productivity was our robust Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) strategy that led to 85% of our installation being pre-fabricated off-site.
